Hi there, sorry to reach out like this. I got the POD of this on DTRPG and like an absoulte mad man didn't click to get the free PDF included. Would it be possible to get access to the PDF as well? Happy to send you proof of purchase etc - just let me know how best to do it. Thanks!
Hi there, I absolutely love this book! Having a blast with it in solo play. I recently posted on Reddit a photo of my setup of the sector map in Obsidian and people seem to really like it. I'm wondering if it is okay for me to share my source file online. It contains a cropped, slightly modified version of the sector hex grid, as well as the system "grid" from the PDF
Hi -- That is a great idea and something I have thought about. No plans for the near future though, I've got too many other projects to manage at the moment.
It's my understanding that Perilous Wilds is built to work with any system but specifically for Dungeon Worlds. Is this similar or more system agnostic? Or am I misinterpreting the descriptions of the 2 resources?
The Perilous Void is a set of procedures and tables designed to be used with any sci-fi game of your choice. It does not depend on or refer to any preexisting rules.
I purchased this on DTRPG and I think it's great! I just wanted to point out that the sector generation rules wants you to select 20 subsectors of interest and mark it down on the Sector Chart, but there are only 14 spaces in the HEX # column. is there any chance of an updated Sector Chart sheet?
Done! Space is of course a little tighter now, but 20 Systems of Interest can now be accommodated. Thanks again for noticing this inconsistency and pointing it out to me.
Yes, there will be a print-on-demand edition available on DriveThruRPG in 3-4 weeks. I'm looking into how to set up a discount for people who bought the PDF here on itch.
Um, wow?! It is funny the other day I was thumbing through Perilous Wilds and asking myself "can I just lightly reskin this for Sci-Fi?" Ultimately it seemed like a bit too much work and "dungeon crawling" derelict ships isn't really my thing.
Thank you for Perilous Void, it is extremely well done. I appreciate all the procedure guidance for building cohesive components - a lot of Sci-Fi generator stuff is just a mish-mash of tables that don't feel like they fit together as a whole. This is not that - this is very well thought out. I also appreciate that the cohesive bits do have "boundaries" - so if you wanted a game that took place in a single System you aren't required to also generate a Sector for example (ditto a game that takes place a single World.) Same goes for the Lifeforms -> Society -> Faction ... they fit together if you want the whole big picture but you can also stop at very cleanly separated modular bounds.
Just can't say enough how really well done this effort is, thank you.
Wow, thanks so much for taking to time to comment. I put a lot of thought and effort into this one precisely because I don't like those "mish-mash" books, so it means a lot that you noticed!

Hi! Since there's no way to DM each other via itch, I guess the best thing to do is join the L&B discord and DM me that way:
https://discord.gg/zkkquqha
Send me a screenshot of your DTRPG library with the book on there and I will happily send you the links for PDF copies here and on DTRPG.
A bonkers system I just generated for my next campaign. Forget about the three-body problem!

Yes, that’s totally fine, and thanks for asking. I’m happy to hear that you’re enjoying the book!
hello any links to your post on reddit or your obsidian setting ?
For sure! Here is the source code:

The hex grid is under /Sci-Fi/PerilousGude/Setting
thanks, that's very inspiring
HI!
Did you have any plans to create something like this for cities?
Hi -- That is a great idea and something I have thought about. No plans for the near future though, I've got too many other projects to manage at the moment.
thanks for reply!
Just saw the DTRPG announcement and looking forward to also getting this in print!

Thanks for the note, Jeff! Once I get a spare moment I'll see what I can do about making that fix.

Will there be a paper copy available at some point? I'd like to add this to my little dynamite collection of great mini books for rpgs!

Fantastic. Thanks Jason!
This is amazing, very very happy with this! This is definitely the book I'd turn to first for a spacefaring campaign before SWN or Starforged.
Any chance that PDF bookmarks could be added in a future release?
It's on my to-do list! Hopefully next week some time.
This is a really cool sci fi TRPG generator.
